STORY

Sail Tahoe Blue was founded (and is run) by us — Sean and Isabella.

We both grew up sailing in the San Francisco Bay, along the Northern California coast, and abroad, logging thousands of miles on the water before we ever imagined starting a business together.

Somewhere along the way, we realized we shared the same dream: to build a life around sailing and create a space where people could slow down, get outside, and enjoy the lake from the deck of a sailboat.

We founded Sail Tahoe Blue in 2020 with a simple idea: share the magic of sailing Lake Tahoe with anyone who wants to feel that wind-in-your-hair, sun-on-your-face kind of freedom.

We’re now heading into our seventh season on the water, and in that time we’ve taken out thousands of guests — families, friend groups, honeymooners, bachelorettes, locals, visitors from across the country and across the world.

Every sail is a little different because the people are different. That’s honestly our favorite part.

Being out on the water every day, doing what we love, and sharing it with others still feels like a dream come true.

What we love most about what we do? The people we meet.

We get to introduce so many first-timers to sailing — watching someone feel the boat power up under wind for the first time never gets old. And for the lifelong sailors who step aboard, it’s a shared language. Either way, we get to connect over something we care deeply about.

We feel lucky, every single day, to share what we love with people from all over the world.
